is anyone going to notice?

I am working away on the Aran cardigan by Elizabeth Zimmermann and I keep starting and stopping and changing my mind and trying other things. I think I’m finally happy on the layout of the patterns and am fairly certain the gauge will work. The thing is, I MADE A MISTAKE! The Yarn Harlot constantly mentions the ability of Knitters to ignore things. Denial, thy name is knitter. Now is the time to make a decision – do I ignore the fact that my cable went the wrong way about an inch ago? Or do I bow to the reality that it is going to bug me for my entire life if I don’t rip it back? GRR.
